The M17 Video Archive is a curated collection of contemporary, single-channel video art, maintained by Clark Buckner and housed at MISSION 17 in San Francisco. The archive provides an on-going platform for local artists and other video producers to exhibit their work, and a way for local audiences to access videos from throughout the world.
Visitors to the gallery are invited to watch videos from the collection "on-demand." Beginning in January, 2009, at the latest, we plan to organize programs of works drawn from the archive, which will be presented, in conjunction with our regular exhibition schedule, on a monitor at the gallery. And, in the future, we may also draw from the archive to curate screenings at the gallery or other outlets.
Artists and other video producers are encouraged to submit preview copies of their work for possible inclusion in the archive.
